Isaac Long

Isaac long is the son of Michele and Stacy Marshall and Shawn and Jessica Long and currently ranks first in his class at East Liverpool High School. Isaac serves as Class President, Percussion Captain, and represented his school as a delegate to Buckeye Boys’ State. He is also a member of National Honor Society, Thespians, Prom Committee, Outdoor Adventure Club, Cross Country, Swimming, Tennis, Soccer, and is a two-time member of the OVAC All-Academic Team. Isaac has volunteered as a junior coach with Pegasus track, Camp Fitch counselor, and with the medication take-back day at East Liverpool City Hospital.  Isaac is enrolled in AP and other college preparatory plans to attend a four-year university in the fall to major in Physics

Lari Spahr

Lari Spahr is the daughter of Hannah and Rick Spahr and ranks in the top 15% of her class at East Liverpool High School. Lari serves as the Vice-president of Renaissance Singers and was selected as an alternate for Buckeye Girls’ State. She is a member of National Honor Society, ELHS Tennis, and twice represented her school at District Honor’s Choir. Lari volunteers as a junior coach with Pegasus Track club and volunteers at the Carnegie Public Library by reading to younger children throughout the school year and with their Summer Reading Program. Lari is enrolled in College Credit plus and other college preparatory classes and plans to major in Musical Theater next year.

Kayla Karnosh

Kayla Karnosh is the daughter of Shaunna and Shannon Karnosh and ranks first in her class with a cumulative GPA of 4.0. Kayla is a member of National honor Society, Educators Rising, Skills USA, Track & Field, and Cross Country for which she served as Team Captain and Co-Captain. Additionally, she earned places in the OVAC All-Conference Academic Team, Second Team OVAC for Cross Country, and was awarded the Ralph Locke Award for Cross Country. Kayla has proudly served as a volunteer with Pegasus Track Club and supports elementary students as a student aid through her Teaching Professions course. Kayla is enrolled in AP and other college preparatory classes and plans to major in Inclusive Early Childhood Education next year.

Morgan Ahart

Morgan Ahart is the son of Rhett and Donna Ahart. Morgan is a proud member of the ELHS Marching Band, Concert band, Jazz band, and Pep Band and has served as Band Equipment Manager. Morgan represented East Liverpool High School at Buckeye Boys’ State where he was awarded the honor of Outstanding Citizen.  He represented ELHS at the 2017 OVAC All-Star Band and has also been involved with Martial Arts Club, Gaming Club, and Speech and Debate. Morgan volunteered with the Photo Club food drive where he collected and distributed food for those in need and is active in local government serving as an intern for Bill Johnson and attending various political meetings. Morgan is enrolled in AP and other college preparatory classes and plans to dual-major in English and Professional Writing while continuing to participate in Band at the collegiate level.

Justin Blasdel

Justin is the son of Chuck and Lisa Blasdel and ranks in the top 15% of his class. Justin serves as President of National Honor Society, and is a 4-year member of Booster Club, where he currently serves as President. He was formerly elected President of his Junior Class, and served as Secretary of his Sophomore Class. Justin is a 4-year member of Outdoor Adventure Club, 2-year letterman in Tennis, a 3-year member of Tri-M, and a 3-year member and letterman of the ELHS Renaissance Singers. He has also participated in multiple plays and musicals with the ELHS Thespians. Justin served as a delegate this past summer at Buckeye Boys State at Miami University, where he was elected Speaker of The House of Representatives. Additionally, he was a finalist for the prestigious U.S. Senate Youth Program and earned a passing mark on AP Government and Politics examination. Justin serves as a regular community volunteer with ELCPR, as well as a Lector and Altar Server at Holy Trinity Parish. He enjoys volunteering with younger potters at North Elementary and La Croft events. Justin is enrolled in college preparatory courses and plans to major in International Business and double minor in Spanish and Arabic Studies.

Daniel Zink

Daniel Zink is the son of Danielle Shipley and Gail Zink and currently ranks in the top 10% of his class with a cumulative GPA of 3.955. Daniel is a four-year member of Marching Band, Pep Band, and Concert Band and a one-year member of Lab Band. Daniel is a proud member of National Honor Society, Order of the Arrow, and has been active with the ELHS Gaming Club for three years. Daniel was recently awarded the highest honor within the Boy Scouts of America and named an Eagle Scout while serving with Troop 2012. On top of a rigorous academic schedule which includes AP and other college preparatory coursework, Daniel works part-time at the Hot Dog Shoppe. Daniel plans to attend Youngstown State University to major in Chemistry in the Fall.

Gregory Baumgarner

Gregory Baumgarner is the son of Paula Baumgarner and Delmer Baumgarner. Gregory is a member of the ELHS Bowling team where he served as Captain for two years and was also recognized as Bowler of the Month. Additionally, he has participated in Baseball and Golf and received a scholar award for Soccer. He has served as a Skills USA representative for East Liverpool High School for two years and received a perfect attendance award in his Cosmetology class through which he has also held an internship outside of school. In his spare time, Gregory volunteers at River Valley Baseball and works with Junior Bowlers at Walnut Lanes every weekend and is employed part-time at Subway. Gregory plans to attend Eastern Gateway Community College to major in Criminal Justice.

Colin Smith

Colin Smith is the son of Bill and Michelle Smith and ranks in the top 10% of his class at East Liverpool High School with a cumulative GPA of 3.957. Colin has served as Captain of both Swimming and Cross Country at ELHS and is also active in National Honor Society, Tennis, Academic Team, Outdoor Adventure Club, Tri-M, and Thespians. He was a delegate to Buckeye Boys’ State and participated in the Columbiana County Honor’s Band, Solo and Ensemble, and YSU English festival for four years each. He also serves as Treasurer and Drum Major in Band and was awarded OVAC Academic Honors. Outside of the classroom, Colin volunteers as the voice of the morning announcements for East Liverpool Junior and Senior High, and has served his community with Medication Take Back Day and with Patient packets and Comfort Animals at East Liverpool City Hospital and as an Aide at Westgate Middle School for after-school activities. Additionally, he is a volunteer with the Thompson Park Dolphins and Wave Runners clubs, Pegasus Track Club, and as a Camp Fitch Counselor. He is also employed as a Lifeguard at Thompson Park. Colin is enrolled in AP and other college preparatory classes and plans to attend Ohio Northern University to study Pharmacy.

Joshua Recktenwald

Joshua Recktenwald is the son of Kim and Mike Recktenwald and ranks in the top 10% of his class with a GPA of 3.872. Joshua has earned academic awards in Soccer, Golf, Basketball, and Baseball through which he earned the Coaches’ Award and Defensive Player of the Year. He has served as Soccer Captain for two years, was MVP for two years in a row, and was selected for District Team, All-OVAC Team, and First Team Buckeye 8. He is a member of National Honor Society, has volunteered at youth Baseball events, and has served as an instructor with KinderHoops at the YMCA. Additionally, he has delivered meals for L & B and volunteered with the East Liverpool Christmas Parade and Calcutta Memorial Day Car Show. Joshua plans to study Business at Geneva College in the Fall.
