Mensa Foundation Scholarship Program The East Central Ohio Mensa group is comprised of Ashland, Carroll, Crawford, Columbiana, Holmes, Mahoning, Medina, Portage, Richland, Stark, Summit, Trumbull, Tuscarawas and Wayne counties in Ohio. National Honor Scholarship - The nomination process for the 2013 NHS Scholarship Program is now open. The deadline for the student portion of the nomination form is January 28, 2013. Members [students] who are seniors in good standing are eligible to be nominated by their chapter to compete in the NHS Scholarship Program. The phrase, "seniors in good standing" is generally taken to mean 12th graders who are continuing to meet the standards by which they were selected and who are up-to-date on their chapter obligations. ELHS can have 3 nominees.

Ohio Association of Career Colleges and Schools - There are over 400 scholarships available ranging from $2,000 to $44,000. These scholarships are only available to Ohio High School graduates of the 2013 academic years. Columbiana County Retired Teachers Association Book Grant - This award is in the amount of $300 and is given to a graduating senior who plans to further their education by going into the ifeld of teaching. Please fill out the application and submit it with your essay. Deadline is April 1st.

Orrick, Herrington, & Sutcliffe GOC Scholarship
- The community Foundation welcomes area high school students planning to major in business, accounting or information technology to apply for the Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe GOC Scholarship. The Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe Foundation established the scholarship to offer students an opportunity to achieve their dreams. Now in its second year the scholarship offers two awards for $1000 each.
The scholarships criterion for eligibility is listed below and an application packet is available in the guidance office for those interested in applying.
The application must be postmarked no later than March 8, 2013.
Criteria of Eligibility:

Student must be a resident of the Ohio Valley

Students must be in good academic standing with a minimum 3.5 GPA

Student must demonstrate financial need

Students must plan to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree with preference given to those with professional career goals in Business Management, Accounting or Information Systems Technology

Student must be enrolled in, or accepted as a full-time student at an accredited public or independent institution, preference will be given to those enrolled or accepted at: West Virginia University, West Liberty University, Bethany College, Wheeling Jesuit University, Washington & Jefferson College, University of Pittsburgh, The Ohio State University, Ohio Eastern, Franciscan University, Duquesne University, Carnegie Mellon University or Robert Morris College.

Hall of Fame Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO - Eligible applicants are graduating seniors whose parents or legal guardians are a member of one of the local unions affiliated and in good standing with the Hall of Fame Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO. There are four $500 Hall of Fame Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO/American Life Scholarships available. Deadline for requesting and returning the completed application is Friday, May 17, 2013.
